David Mallett

David Mallett hails from a small town in northern Maine, and in a career that spans four decades, his music has traveled to all corners of the world. His songs have been recorded by more than 150 artists, including Pete Seeger, Alison Krauss, John Denver, Emmylou Harris, and even the Muppets, and his "Inch by inch, row by row…" "Garden Song" has become an American folk classic.  The Bangor Daily News recognized him in 2000 as one of the 58 most memorable Mainers of the 20th Century, and the Orlando Sentinel recently wrote, "What Garrison Keillor is to Minnesota, Mallett is to Maine".  He has performed throughout America and Europe, has 11 albums to his credit, and has published two books.

"Mallett is a first-rate folk singer and writer. His portraits are camera sharp, and his knowledge of his subjects is profound."

Northern Lights

Northern Lights, the Northeast's superlative veteran string band, doesn't qualify as typical traditionalist. But over a career closing in on three decades, it has created its own tradition - a constant exploration of new musical territory without ever losing its acoustic and vocal bearings. From 1990's "Take You to the Sky," to 2005's "New Moon" (Fifty-Fifty Music), the band has fused an eclectic mix of traditional roots music, rock, country, soul and gospel with the high, lonesome vocal sound and instruments of bluegrass. The band double bills with renowned artists such as Jonathan Edwards, including sets together, and the late Vassar Clements occasionally joined them on fiddle from 1991 until his death in 2005.

"These guys are undoubtedly one of the most vibrant and refreshing contemporary bluegrass bands around."

Jonathan Edwards

The word "legend" is often used to describe veteran folk/rocker Jonathan Edwards, whose 1971 million-selling song "Sunshine" ("go away today...") brought him instant fame. During his 29-year career he has recorded 13 albums and collaborated with artists like Emmylou Harris, Maura O'Connell, Jimmy Buffett, Christine Lavin, and Cheryl Wheeler. His 1987 album, LITTLE HANDS, was selected by the National Library Association as a "Notable Children's Recording." His varied career has included theater, commercials, record production, and a movie soundtrack. In 2000 he narrated and performed in a 13-week travel series for Media Artists entitled "Cruising America’s Waterways", which is being shown on PBS-TV stations from coast to coast.  Media Artists also released his newest CD, appropriately titled "Cruising America’s Waterways".

Lisa McCormick

Singer-songwriter Lisa McCormick lights up the room with an unforgettable performance of spicy upbeat originals on acoustic guitar with soaring vocals. Her seasoned ease on stage and sharp sense of humor complement her finely-tuned songwriting, with influences ranging from spicy Bossa Nova, to Contemporary Folk/Pop. McCormick’s newest CD, "Mystery Girl", reflects recent travels in Europe and Latin America. Her songs are playfully bohemian, and richly infused with sultry jazz and spicy Latin stylings. Jonathan Edwards discovered her and produced and performed on her first CD, "Right Now". She continues to open many shows for him.

"She is funny, sexy, smart, literate, sardonic, witty, and sings with all the power of a rock diva"
